حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي أَهْلِ قُبَاءٍ{ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا }قَالَ كَانُوا يَسْتَنْجُونَ بِالْمَاءِ فَنَزَلَتْ فِيهِمْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Al 'Ala] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Mu'awiyah bin Hisyam] dari [Yunus bin Al Harits] dari [Ibrahim bin Abi Maimunah] dari [Abu Shalih] dari [Abu Hurairah] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, dia berkata; Ayat ini turun berkaitan dengan penduduk Quba, "Di dalamnya ada orang-orang yang ingin membersihkan diri." Abu hurairah berkata; "Mereka beristinja dengan air, maka ayat ini turun berkaitan dengan mereka."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
