حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ الْبَرَّاءُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُمْأَنَّ الْخَمْرَ حُرِّمَتْ وَالْخَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Al Muqaddami] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yusuf Abu Ma'syar Al Barra`] dia berkata; saya mendengar [Sa'id bin 'Ubaidullah] berkata; telah menceritakan kepadaku [Bakr bin Abdullah] bahwa [Anas bin Malik] telah menceritakan kepada mereka bahwa Khamr telah di haramkan, ketika itu khmer terbuat dari busr (minuman keras dari perasan kurma muda atau masih pentil) dan tamr (minuman keras dari perasan kurma kering).

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
