حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَاجَاءَ سُلَيْكٌ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَجِيءَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَتَجَوَّزْ فِيهِمَا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Dawud bin Rusyaid] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hafsh bin Ghiyats] dari [Al A'masy] dari [Abu Shalih] dari [Abu Hurairah] dan [Abu Sufyan] dari [Jabir] keduanya berkata, "Sulaik Al Ghathafani masuk ke dalam masjid sementara Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam berkhutbah, lalu Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda bertanya kepadanya: "Apakah engkau telah melaksanakan shalat sebelum engkau tiba?" ia berkata, "Belum, " beliau bersabda: "Shalatlah dua raka'at dan ringankanlah. "

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
