حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَسَأَلْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا أَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ أَنَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَرَبِّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hisyam bin Ammar] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan bin Uyainah] dari [Abdul Hamid bin Jubair bi Syaibah] dari [Muhammad bin Abbad bin Ja'far] berkata; Aku pernah bertanya kepada [Jabir bin Abdullah] ketika aku sedang melakukan thawaf di Baitullah, "Apakah Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melarang berpuasa pada hari jum'at?" ia menjawab, "Benar, demi Rabb pemilik rumah ini (Ka'bah). "

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
