حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ فَائِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى قَالَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ مَرَّةً
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan bin Waki'] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Isa bin Yunus] dari [Faid bin Abdurrahman] dari [Abdullah bin Abu Aufa] ia berkata; "Aku melihat Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam berwudlu tiga kali-tiga kali dan mengusap kepalanya sekali."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
