أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِفِي رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً فَمَاتَ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ بِهَا وَلَمْ يَفْرِضْ لَهَا قَالَ لَهَا الصَّدَاقُ وَعَلَيْهَا الْعِدَّةُ وَلَهَا الْمِيرَاثُ فَقَالَ مَعْقِلُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ فَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى بِهِ فِي بَرْوَعَ بِنْتِ وَاشِقٍأَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مِثْلَهُ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Manshur], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdur Rahman], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Firas] dari [Asy Sya'bi] dari [Masruq] dari [Abdullah] mengenai seorang laki-laki yang menikahi seorang wanita, kemudian ia meninggal dan belum menggaulinya serta belum menentukan mahar baginya. Abdullah berkata; ia mendapatkan mahar, wajib menunggu masa 'iddah, serta mendapatkan warisan. Kemudian [Ma'qil bin Sinan] berkata; sungguh saya mendengar Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memberikan keputusan mengenai Barwa' binti Wasyiq dengan hal tersebut. Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Manshur], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdur Rahman] dari [Sufyan] dari [Manshur] dari [Ibrahim] dari ['Alqamah] dari [Abdullah] seperti itu.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
