أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُرْفُطَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَأْتِي جَارِيَةَ امْرَأَتِهِ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَتْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ جَلَدْتُهُ مِائَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ رَجَمْتُهُ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Basysyar], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Abu Bisyr] dari [Khalid bin 'Urfuthah] dari [Habib bin Salim] dari [An Nu'man bin Basyir] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengenai seorang laki-laki yang menggauli sahaya isterinya, beliau bersabda: "Apabila ia menghalalkan untuknya, saya mencambuknya seratus kali, dan apabila ia tidak menghalalkan untuknya, saya merajamnya."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
