أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَقُولُقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الذَّهَبُ بِالْوَرِقِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَالْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Ibrahim], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Az Zuhri] dari [Malik bin Aus bin Al Hadatsan] bahwa Ia mendengar [Umar bin Al Khathab] berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Menjual emas dengan perak adalah riba, kecuali serah terima secara langsung, kurma dengan kurma adalah riba kecuali serah terima secara langsung, gandum dengan gandum adalah riba kecuali serah terima secara langsung, jewawut dengan jewawut adalah riba kecuali serah terima secara langsung."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
