حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الصَّبْرُ فِي الصَّدْمَةِ الْأُولَىقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qutaibah], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Laits] dari [Yazid bin Abu Habib] dari [Sa'ad bin Sinan] dari [Anas] bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Kesabaran itu ada pada saat pertama kali tertimpa (musibah) ". Abu 'Isa berkata; "Ini merupakan hadits gharib melalui jalur ini."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
