حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ سَمِعَا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُصَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَرْبَعًا وَالْعَصْرَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zuhair bin Harb] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu 'Uyainah] dari [Muhammad bin Al Munkadir] dan [Ibrahim bin Maisarah] keduanya mendengar [Anas bin Malik] berkata; "Aku shalat dluhur empat raka'at di Madinah bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, dan shalat Ashar dua raka'at di Dzul Hulaifah."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
