حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْكُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ أَوْضَاحًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكَنْزٌ هُوَ فَقَالَ مَا بَلَغَ أَنْ تُؤَدَّى زَكَاتُهُ فَزُكِّيَ فَلَيْسَ بِكَنْزٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada Kami [Muhammad bin Isa], telah menceritakan kepada Kami ['Attab yaitu Ibnu Basyir] dari [Tsabit bin 'Ajlan] dari ['Atha`] dari [Ummu Salamah], ia berkata; aku mengenakan perhiasan dari emas, lalu aku bertanya; wahai Rasulullah, apakah ini termasuk barang timbunan? Beliau menjawab: "Apa yang sudah mencapai nishabnya untuk dizakati kemudian telah dikeluarkan zakatnya maka bukanlah termasuk barang timbunan."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
