حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَهْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُهِلُّ مُلَبِّدًا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada Kami [Sulaiman bin Daud Al Mahri], telah menceritakan kepada Kami [Ibnu Wahb], telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Yunus] dari [Ibnu Syihab] dari [Salim yaitu Ibnu Abdullah] dari [ayahnya], ia berkata; saya mendengar Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bertalbiyah dalam keadaan mencelup rambutnya.

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
