حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْمُزْنِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي رَافِعُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْمُزْنِيُّ قَالَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ بِمِنًى حِينَ ارْتَفَعَ الضُّحَى عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ شَهْبَاءَ وَعَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُعَبِّرُ عَنْهُ وَالنَّاسُ بَيْنَ قَاعِدٍ وَقَائِمٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada Kami [Abdul Wahhab bin Abdurrahim Ad Dimasyqi], telah menceritakan kepada Kami [Marwan] dari [Hilal bin 'Amir Al Muzni], telah menceritakan kepadaku [Rafi' bin 'Amr Al Muzni], ia berkata; saya melihat Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam berkhutbah kepada orang-orang di Mina ketika matahari pagi telah naik diatas bighal yang warnanya putih kehitam-hitaman. Sementara Ali Bin Abu Thalib radliallahu 'anhu menyampaikan khutbah beliau sementara orang-orang ada yang berdiri dan ada yang duduk.

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
