حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْحُبَابِ عَنْ مُطِيعِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَرِبَ لَبَنًا فَلَمْ يُمَضْمِضْ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ وَصَلَّىقَالَ زَيْدٌ دَلَّنِي شُعْبَةُ عَلَى هَذَا الشَّيْخِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Utsman bin Abu Syaibah] dri [Zaid bin Al Hubab] dari [Muthi' bin Rasyid] dari [Taubah Al-'Anbari] bahwasanya dia pernah mendengar [Anas bin Malik] berkata; Sesungguhnya Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pernah minum susu, lalu beliau tidak berkumur-kumur dan tidak berwudhu keamudian beliau shalat. Zaid berkata; Syu'bah menunjukkan kepadaku tentang syaikh ini.

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
