حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ نُكِحَتْ عَلَى صَدَاقٍ أَوْ حِبَاءٍ أَوْ عِدَّةٍ قَبْلَ عِصْمَةِ النِّكَاحِ فَهُوَ لَهَا وَمَا كَانَ بَعْدَ عِصْمَةِ النِّكَاحِ فَهُوَ لِمَنْ أُعْطِيَهُ وَأَحَقُّ مَا أُكْرِمَ عَلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ ابْنَتُهُ أَوْ أُخْتُهُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Ma'mar], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Bakr Al Bursani], telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ibnu Juraij] dari ['Amr bin Syu'aib] dari [ayahnya] dari [kakeknya], ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Setiap wanita yang dinikahkan dengan suatu mahar, pemberian, atau janji sebelum akad nikah, maka hal itu adalah miliknya. Adapun yang diberikan setelah akad nikah, maka hal itu adalah milik orang yang diberinya. Dan orang yang paling berhak terhadap penghormatan yang diberikan kepada seseorang adalah anak atau saudara wanita wanita."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
