حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى الْبَلْخِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عِيسَى عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا يَكْرَهُ الْكُحْلَ لِلصَّائِمِوَكَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يُرَخِّصُ أَنْ يَكْتَحِلَ الصَّائِمُ بِالصَّبِرِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Mukharrimi] dan [Yahya bin Musa Al Balkhi], mereka berdua mengatakan; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya bin Isa] dari [Al A'masy], ia berkata; aku tidak melihat seorang pun dari para sahabat kita yang membenci celak bagi orang yang berpuasa. Dan Ibrahim memberikan keringanan agar orang yang berpuasa bercelak menggunakan shabir.

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
