حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رِزْمَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُكَانَتْ يَمِينُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا حَلَفَ يَقُولُ لَا وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz bin Abu Rizmah], telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Zaid bin Hubab], telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Muhammad bin Hilal], telah menceritakan kepadaku [ayahku] bahwa ia mendengar [Abu Hurairah] berkata; sumpah Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam apabila beliau bersumpah adalah mengucapkan: "Tidak, dan aku beristighfar kepada Allah."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
