حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الذَّهَبُ بِالْوَرِقِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَالْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdullah bin Maslamah Al Qa'nabi], dari [Malik], dari [Ibnu Syihab], dari [Malik bin Aus] dari [Umar] radliallahu 'anhu, ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Emas ditukar dengan perak adalah riba, kecuali diserahkan secara tunai, gandum ditukar dengan gandum adalah riba kecuali diserahkan secara tunai, kurma ditukar dengan kurma adalah riba kecuali diserahkan secara tubai, jewawut ditukar dengan jewawut adalah riba kecuali diserahkan secara tunai."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
