حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَخَّصَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا بِالتَّمْرِ وَالرُّطَبِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Shalih], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Wahb], telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Yunus] dari [Ibnu Syihab] telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Kharijah bin Tsabit] dari [ayahnya] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam telah memberikan keringanan untuk menjual 'araya (ruthab atau anggur di atas pohon) dengan kurma dan ruthab.

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
