حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ زَاذَانَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَقَرَأْتُ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ أَنَّ بَرَكَةَ الطَّعَامِ الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَهُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ بَرَكَةُ الطَّعَامِ الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَهُ وَالْوُضُوءُ بَعْدَهُوَكَانَ سُفْيَانُ يَكْرَهُ الْوُضُوءَ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Musa bin Isma'il] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qais] dari [Abu Hasyim] dari [Zadzan] dari [Salman] ia berkata, "Aku membaca dalam Taurat bahwa berkah makanan adalah dengan berwudlu sebelum makan. Lalu aku ceritakan hal tersebut kepada Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, maka beliau bersabda: "Berkah makanan adalah dengan berwudlu sebelum makan dan setelah makan." Sedangkan Sufyan tidak menyukai wudlu sebelum makan." Abu Daud berkata, "Hadits tersebut adalah dla'if."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
