حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُفَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا خُصَيْفٌ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَإِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الثَّوْبِ الْمُصْمَتِ مِنْ الْحَرِيرِ فَأَمَّا الْعَلَمُ مِنْ الْحَرِيرِ وَسَدَى الثَّوْبِ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Nufail] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zuhair] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Khushaif] dari [Ikrimah] dari [Ibnu Abbas] ia berkata, "Hanyasanya yang Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam larang adalah kain yang murni dari sutera, adapun jika itu berupa gambar atau benangnya saja, maka tidaklah mengapa."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
