حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَلْبَسُ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَيُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْوَرْسِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِوَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdurrahim bin Mutaharrif Abu Sufyan] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Amru bin Muhammad] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abu Rawwad] dari [Nafi'] dari [Ibnu Umar] berkata, "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengenakan sandal yang bertali dan memberi warna janggutnya dengan Al Waras (semacam tumbuhan) dan Za'faran. Dan Ibnu Umar juga melakukan hal itu."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
