حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُرَجَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْيَهُودِ وَامْرَأَةً زَنَيَا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibrahim bin Hasan Al Mishishi] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hajjaj bin Muhammad] ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Juraij] Bahwasanya ia mendengar [Abu Az Zubair] pernah mendengar [Jabir bin Abdullah] berkata, "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pernah merajam seorang laki-laki dan perempuan yahudi yang berbuat zina."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
