حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَلَا يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Musaddad] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya] dari [Muhammad bin 'Ajlan] dia berkata; Saya mendengar [bapakku] menceritakan hadits dari [Abu Hurairah], dia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Janganlah salah seorang dari kalian kencing di air yang menggenang dan janganlah dia mandi janabah di tempat tersebut."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
