حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ خَبَّرَنَا عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ أَبِيهِأَنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ وَأَصَابَهُمْ مَطَرٌ لَمْ تَبْتَلَّ أَسْفَلُ نِعَالِهِمْ فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يُصَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِهِمْ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Nashr bin Ali], [Sufyan bin Habib] berkata; telah mengabarkan kepada kami, dari [Khalid Al Khaddza`] dari [Abu Qilabah] dari [Abu Al Malih] dari [ayahnya] bahwa dia melihat Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pada peristiwa Hudaibiyah ketika hari Jum'at, mereka kehujanan yang tidak hanya mengenai bagian bawah sandal mereka, maka beliau memerintahkan mereka untuk mengerjakan shalat di persinggahan mereka."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
