حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَاأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ فِي كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي سَجْدَتَيْنِ الْأَوَّلُ الْأَوَّلُ أَطْوَلُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mahmud bin Ghoilan] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Ahmad] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Yahya] dari ['Amrah] dari ['Aisyah radliallahu 'anha] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam shalat bersama mereka (para sahabat) ketika terjadi gerhana matahari dengan empat ruku' dalam dua kali sujud, dan rakaat yang pertama lebih panjang".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
