حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَكُنَّا فِي جَنَازَةٍ فَأَخَذَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِيَدِ مَرْوَانَ فَجَلَسَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تُوضَعَ فَجَاءَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِ مَرْوَانَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَوَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمَ هَذَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَفَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ صَدَقَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Yunus] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abu Dza'bi] dari [Sa'id Al Maqbariy] dari [bapaknya] berkata,: Kami pernah berada dekat jenazah, ketika itu Abu Hurairah radliallahu 'anhu memegang tangan Marwan lalu keduanya duduk sebelum diletakkan. Kemudian datang [Abu Sa'id radliallahu 'anhu] lalu memegang tangan Marwan seraya berkata,: "Berdirilah!. Demi Allah, sungguh kamu telah tahu bahwa Nabi Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam melarang kita tentang hal ini". Maka [Abu Hurairah radliallahu 'anhu] berkata,: "Dia benar".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
