حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَعْقِلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sulaiman bin Harb] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Abu Ishaq] berkata, aku mendengar ['Abdullah bin Ma'qil] berkata, aku mendengar ['Adiy bin Hatim radliallahu 'anhu] berkata, aku mendengar Rasulullah Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam bersabda: "Jagalah kalian dari neraka sekalipun dengan (bershadaqah) sebutir kurma".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
