حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا كَانَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَعْجَمِيٌّ مَا الْحَدَثُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ الصَّوْتُ يَعْنِي الضَّرْطَةَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Adam bin Abu Iyas] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abu Dzi'b] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sa'id Al Maqburi] dari [Abu Hurairah] berkata, "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Seorang hamba akan selalu dihitung shalat selama ia di masjid menunggu shalat dan tidak berhadats." Lalu ada seorang laki-laki non-Arab berkata, "Apa yang dimaksud dengan hadats wahai Abu Hurairah?" Abu Hurairah menjawab, "Suara." Yaitu kentut.

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
