حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا عَمْرٌو أَوَّلُ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُاحْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي طَاوُسٌ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ لَعَلَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُمَا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Ali bin 'Abdullah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] berkata; ['Amru] berkata, kepada kami: "Hal yang pertama kali aku dengar dari ['Atho'] adalah saat dia berkata: Aku mendengar [Ibnu 'Abbas radliallahu 'anhuma] berkata: "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam berbekam saat sedang ihram". Kemudian aku mendengar dia berkata, telah menceritakan kepada saya [Thowus] dari [Ibnu 'Abbas radliallahu 'anhuma]. Maka aku katakan: "Barangkali dia mendengarnya dari keduanya".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
