حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُبَعَثَنِي أَوْ قَدَّمَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الثَّقَلِ مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu An-Nu'man] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hammad bin Zaid] dari ['Ubaidullah bin Abu Yazid] berkata; Aku mendengar [Ibnu 'Abbas radliallahu 'anhuma] berkata: "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengutusku atau memanggilku untuk membawa perbekalan para musafir (jama'ah haji) di Jama' pada malam hari".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
