حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يَصُومَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا يَوْمًا قَبْلَهُ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Umar bin Hafsh bin Ghiyats] telah menceritakan kepada kami [bapakku] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al A'masy] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Shalih] dari [Abu Hurairah radliallahu 'anhu] berkata; "Aku mendengar Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Janganlah seorang dari kalian berpuasa pada hari Jum'at kecuali dibarengi dengan satu hari sebelum atau sesudahnya".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
