حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدَكُمْ خَادِمُهُ بِطَعَامِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ فَليُنَاوِلْهُ لُقْمَةً أَوْ لُقْمَتَيْنِ أَوْ أُكْلَةً أَوْ أُكْلَتَيْنِ فَإِنَّهُ وَلِيَ عِلَاجَهُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hajjaj bin Minhal] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] berkata, telah menceritakan kepadaku [Muhammad bin Ziyad] aku mendengar [Abu Hurairah radliallahu 'anhu] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam: "Jika seorang dari kalian didatangi pembantunya dengan membawa makanan, lantas dia tidak mengajaknya duduk makan bersamanya, hendaklah dia berikan kepadanya satu suap atau dua suap atau satu makanan atau dua makanan, karena dia yang mendapatkan panasnya (ketika memasak) dan disebabkan dia pula makanan bisa dihidangkan".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
