حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُاصْطَبَحَ نَاسٌ الْخَمْرَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا شُهَدَاءَ فَقِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ قَالَ لَيْسَ هَذَا فِيهِ
English Translation
Telah bercerita kepada kami ['Ali bin 'Abdullah] telah bercerita kepada kami [Sufyan] dari ['Amru] dia mendengar [Jabir bin 'Abdullah radliallahu 'anhuma] berkata: "Orang-orang minum khomer pada awal siang di hari perang Uhud (sebelum khomer diharamkan) lalu mereka terbunuh sebagai syuhada', lalu dikatakan kepada Sufyan: "Apakah mereka terbunuh pada sore hari di hari itu juga?" Dia menjawab: "Dalam hal ini tidak".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
