حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الشُّهَدَاءُ خَمْسَةٌ الْمَطْعُونُ وَالْمَبْطُونُ وَالْغَرِقُ وَصَاحِبُ الْهَدْمِ وَالشَّهِيدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
English Translation
Telah bercerita kepada kami ['Abdullah bin Yusuf] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Malik] dari [Sumayya] dari [Abu Shalih] dari [Abu Hurairah radliallahu 'anhu] bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Syuhada' (orang yang mati syahid) ada lima; yaitu orang yang terkena wabah penyakit Tha'un, orang yang terkena penyakit perut, orang yang tenggelam, orang yang tertimpa reruntuhan bangunan dan yang mati syahid di jalan Allah".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
