حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍأَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا اسْتُخْلِفَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْبَحْرَيْنِ وَكَتَبَ لَهُ هَذَا الْكِتَابَ وَخَتَمَهُ بِخَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ نَقْشُ الْخَاتَمِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَسْطُرٍ مُحَمَّدٌ سَطْرٌ وَرَسُولُ سَطْرٌ وَاللَّهِ سَطْرٌ
English Translation
Telah bercerita kepada kami [Muhammad bin 'Abdullah Al Anshariy] berkata telah bercerita kepadaku [bapakku] dari [Tsumamah] dari [Anas] bahwa Abu Bakr radliallahu 'anhu ketika diangkat menjadi kholifah, dia mengutus dirinya ke negeri Bahrain dan menulis surat untuknya surat ini dan memberi stempel kenabian Nabi Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam. Pada stempel tersebut ada tiga tulisan, yaitu tulisan Muhammad, Rasul dan Allah".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
