حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
English Translation
Telah bercerita kepada kami [Sa'id bin Abu Maryam] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Al Laits] berkata, telah bercerita kepadaku ['Uqail] dari [Ibnu Syihab] berkata, telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Sa'id bin Al Musayyab] bahwa [Abu Hurairah Radhiyalahu'anhu] berkata; Ketika kami sedang bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Ketika tidur, aku bermimpi diriku berada didalam surga, disana ada seorang wanita yang sedang berwudlu' di samping istana. Aku bertanya: "Untuk siapakah istana itu?". Mereka menjawab; "Untuk 'Umar". Namun aku teringat kecemburuanmu, maka aku berpaling". Seketika 'Umar menangis dan berkata; "Apakah patut aku cemburu kepadamu, wahai Rasulullah?".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
