حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَخِلَالٌ مِنْ خِلَالِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الطَّعْنُ فِي الْأَنْسَابِ وَالنِّيَاحَةُ وَنَسِيَ الثَّالِثَةَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهَا الِاسْتِسْقَاءُ بِالْأَنْوَاءِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Ali bin Abdullah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari ['Ubaidullah] dia mendengar [Ibnu 'Abbas] radliallahu 'anhuma berkata; "Kebiasaan (yang masih ada pada ummat ini) dari kebiasaan jahiliyyah adalah mencela keturunan dan meratapi (kematian) ". Ubaidullah lupa perkara yang ketiga. Sufyan berkata; Orang-orang mengatakan, bahwa yang ketiga adalah meminta hujan lewat perantara bintang-bintang.

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
