حَدَّثَنِي مَطَرُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَمَكَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَتُوُفِّيَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Mathar bin Al Fadlal] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Rauh bin 'Ubadah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zakaria bin Ishaq] telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Amru bin Dinar] dari [Ibnu 'Abbas] radliallahu 'anhuma berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam tinggal di Makkah selama tiga belas tahun (sejak menerima wahyu) dan beliau wafat ketika berusia enam puluh tiga tahun".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
