حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُحَدَّثَنِي أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا عِدَّةَ أَصْحَابِ طَالُوتَ الَّذِينَ جَازُوا مَعَهُ النَّهَرَ بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ وَثَلَاثَ مِائَةٍ قَالَ الْبَرَاءُ لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا جَاوَزَ مَعَهُ النَّهَرَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Amru bin Khalid] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zuhair] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Ishaq] berkata, aku mendengar [Al Bara'] radliallahu 'anhu berkata, telah menceritakan kepadaku para shahabat Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam diantara orang yang turut dalam perang Badar, bahwa jumlah mereka seperti jumlah tentara Thalut, bala tentara yang menyeberangi sungai dimana jumlahnya sekitar tiga ratus sepuluh orang". Al Bara' berkata; "Demi Allah, tidak ada dari mereka yang dapat menyeberangi sungai melainkan orang beriman".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
