حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَابَيْنَا النَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ الصُّبْحَ فِي مَسْجِدِ قُبَاءٍ إِذْ جَاءَ جَاءٍ فَقَالَ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُرْآنًا أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الْكَعْبَةَ فَاسْتَقْبِلُوهَا فَتَوَجَّهُوا إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Musaddad] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya] dari [Sufyan] dari [Abdullah bin Dinar] dari [Ibnu Umar] radliallahu 'anhuma; "Tatkala orang-orang melaksanakan shalat shubuh di Quba`, tiba-tiba ada orang yang datang dan berkata; Allah telah menurunkan wahyu kepada Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam agar menghadap kiblat, maka menghadaplah ke sana! lalu mereka berbalik menghadap Ka'bah.

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
