حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ{ لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ }دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيْدًا فَكَتَبَهَا فَجَاءَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَشَكَا ضَرَارَتَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ{ غَيْرَ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ }
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hafsh bin 'Umar] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Abu Ishaq] dari [Al Bara' radliallahu 'anhu] berkata; tatkala turun ayat: LAA YASTAWIL QAA'IDUUNA MINAL MUKMINIINA WAL MUJAAHIDUUNA FII SABIILILLAAH' 'Tidaklah sama antara orang mukmin yang tidak ikut berperang dan mereka yang berjihad fii sabilillah.' (An Nisa: 95) Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memanggil Zaid, lalu Zaid menulisnya. Kemudian Ummi Maktum datang mengadukan kesulitannya untuk ikut berperang karena buta. Maka Allah menurunkan ayat: GHAIRU ULIDLDLARAR' 'Kecuali orang-orang yang mempunyai halangan'.

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
