حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودٌ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا{ عُتُلٍّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ زَنِيمٍ }قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ لَهُ زَنَمَةٌ مِثْلُ زَنَمَةِ الشَّاةِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mahmud] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ubaidullah bin Musa] dari [Isra'il] dari [Abu Hashin] dari [Mujahid] dari [Ibnu Abbas radliallahu 'anhuma]: "'UTULLIM BA'DA DZAALIKA ZANIIM." Ia berkata, "Yaitu seorang laki-laki Quraisy yang memiliki telinga terpotong seperti telinga kambing yang terpotong."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
