حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَلَمَّا عُرِجَ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ عَلَى نَهَرٍ حَافَتَاهُ قِبَابُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ مُجَوَّفًا فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ هَذَا الْكَوْثَرُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Adam] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syaiban] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qatadah] dari [Anas] radliallahu 'anhu, Ia berkata; Ketika Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengalami peristiwa Mi'raj ke langit, beliau pun bersabda: "Aku mendatangi telaga, pada kedua tepinya terdapat Qubah berongga yang terbuat dari mutiara. Maka aku pun bertanya, 'Apa ini wahai Jibril? ' Ia menjawab, 'Ini adalah Al Kautsar.'"

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
