حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ذَكَرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍوعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ لَا أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَسَالِمٍ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hafsh bin Umar] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Amru] dari [Ibrahim] dari [Masruq] bahwasanya; [Abdullah bin Amru] menyebut Abdullah bin Mas'ud seraya berkata, "Aku senantiasa mencintainya. Aku mendengar Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: 'Ambillah Al Qur`an itu dari empat orang. Yaitu dari, Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Salim, Mu'adz bin Jabal dan Ubay bin Ka'ab.'"

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
