حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِلنَّبِيِّ أَنْ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِقَالَ سُفْيَانُ تَفْسِيرُهُ يَسْتَغْنِي بِهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ali bin Abdullah] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Az Zuhri] dari [Abu Salamah bin Abdurrahman] dari [Abu Hurairah] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Allah tidak mengizinkan pada sesuatu pun, sebagaimana Allah mengizinkan kepada Nabi untuk melagukan Al Qur`an." Sufyan berkata, "Tafsirnya adalah, bahwa ia melagu-lagu dengannya."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
