حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَدَخَلَ الْحَجَّاجُ عَلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَنَا عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ هُوَ فَقَالَ صَالِحٌ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَصَابَكَ قَالَ أَصَابَنِي مَنْ أَمَرَ بِحَمْلِ السِّلَاحِ فِي يَوْمٍ لَا يَحِلُّ فِيهِ حَمْلُهُ يَعْنِي الْحَجَّاجَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Ya'qub] berkata, telah menceritakan kepadaku [Ishaq bin Sa'id bin Al 'Ash] dari [Bapaknya] berkata, "Al Hajjaj datang menemui Ibnu 'Umar, dan saat itu aku sedang bersamanya. Al Hajjaj lalu bertanya, "Bagaimana keadaannya?" Ibnu 'Umar menjawab, "Baik." Al Hajjaj bertanya lagi, "Siapa yang melukaimu?" [Ibnu 'Umar] menjawab, 'Yang melukai aku adalah orang yang memerintahkan membawa senjata pada suatu hari yang mana pada hari itu dilarang membawanya.' Yaitu Al Hajjaj."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
