حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَجَاءَتْ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطِهَا وَلَوْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ فَقَالَ لَيْسَ مَعِي قَالَ قَدْ زَوَّجْتُكَهَا عَلَى مَا مَعَكَ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hafsh bin Amru] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Abdurrahman bin Mahdi] dari [Sufyan] dari [Abu Hazim] dari [Sahl bin Sa'd] berkata, "Seorang wanita datang kepada Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, lalu beliau bersabda: "Siapa yang ingin menikah dengannya?" seorang laki-laki kemudian berkata, "Saya, " lalu Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda kepadanya: "Berilah ia meskipun hanya cincin dari besi." Laki-laki itu berkata, "Aku tidak punya, " beliau bersabda: "Aku nikahkah kamu dengan apa yang kamu hafal dari Al Quran."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
