حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ جَعَلَ الدِّيَةَ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Basyar], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mu'adz bin Hani], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Muslim] dari [Amru bin Dinar] dari [Ikrimah] dari [Ibnu 'Abbas] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam; sesungguhnya ia menjadikan diyat dengan dua belas ribu."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
