حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَأَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمِّي افْتُلِتَتْ نَفْسُهَا وَلَمْ تُوصِ وَإِنِّي أَظُنُّهَا لَوْ تَكَلَّمَتْ لَتَصَدَّقَتْ فَلَهَا أَجْرٌ إِنْ تَصَدَّقْتُ عَنْهَا وَلِيَ أَجْرٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Manshur]; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Usamah] dari [Hisyam bin 'Urwah] dari [Ayahnya] dari ['Aisyah], ia berkata; "Sesungguhnya seorang laki-laki datang menemui Nabi Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, ia berkata; 'Sesungguhnya ibuku meninggal dunia secara mendadak dan ia tidak memberikan wasiat. Aku perkirakan apabila ia dapat berbicara, maka niscaya ia melakukan sedekah, apakah ibuku dan diriku mendapat pahala apabila aku menyedekahkan hartanya? ' Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menjawab: 'Ya.'"

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
